The Era of Physical AI Operating Systems

Or “How to Abstract Robot Work Complexity and Kickstart an Era of Personal Robotic Assistance”

Like a farce. Multi-billion USD valuations, models, partnerships, ARR, APIs, marketing gimmicks, announcements all day, every day? But where is the reliability? Where is the ROI? Where is the real value? Why are deployments still hard (for most people)? Why are deployments so difficult to scale? Are models alone enough? Are “Robot Brain” APIs alone enough? Can models alone guarantee a desired deployment outcome? Can they meet the client KPIs? How do we best deliver value?

Have we seen these problems again? History repeats itself, first as tragedy, then as farce.

Let’s go back to the ‘70s and ‘80s, the computing era. Computing systems were also hard to integrate / deploy. Their complexity needed abstraction. The OS arrived. It offered the abstraction needed. It offered simplicity and intuitiveness, and it scaled computing, realizing personal computing.

A new era of personal robotic assistance is coming. Robots that will be empowered by Physical AI OS systems that will allow them to be easy to program (out of the box). They will make them simple and intuitive to use, reliable. A partner you can trust.

These Physical AI OS systems will unlock the real value of robot work. Their impact will be in the Trillions of dollars and they will reshape how society and the economy look. This should be the focus. At Acumino (www.acumino.ai) we are working on such a Physical AI OS for factories and we co-design it with the people that will need it the most: the production people. Physical AI by humans for both robots and humans. Impact first, value first, reliability first.
